Design a star mapType a place, a date and the names. You see the poster before you pay.

Is a star map a good gift?
It is when there is one night that belongs to them: the night you met, the wedding, the night a child was born. The poster is the sky over that place on that date, with their names, so it is theirs and nobody else's, and it ends up on a wall rather than in a drawer.
A good gift when
- You know the nightThe date and the town are enough; the exact spot and the hour are not needed.
- They keep things with a story The circled star gets its own line, such as "Vega was shining right above us".
- It is from several people One framed poster from all the kids lands better than four small presents.
Pick something else when
- The place matters more than the dateA first home, the street they grew up on. A street map poster shows it better.
- They want the moon or the planets on itOurs draws the stars and the constellation lines only (see are star maps accurate?).
- They expect a star named after them No shop can do that; the International Astronomical Union names stars and does not sell names.
- You need it in two days It takes 4 to 8 business days to reach a US door.

Star map gift ideas by occasion
Every picture is a real poster drawn by the code that prints ours. The names and the couples are made up; the skies are real. Each one opens the page for that occasion, with its own examples and questions.
The night you metThe bar, the campus, the street corner. The poster circles the brightest named star high over that spot.
A first date, for Valentine'sFebruary 14 prints nearly the same sky every year, so print the night of your first date and give it on the 14th.
The proposalThe night they said yes, with a heart on the overlook. "Will you marry me, Emma?" fits the name line.
The wedding nightUnder the same stars, with the streets of the venue in a big circle in the middle.
Any anniversaryOn the same date the stars stand within about a degree of the wedding night, so either night prints the same sky. Venus comes back every 8th year.
A 25th anniversarySilver is on both the traditional and the modern list. The sky of their wedding night goes next to it.
Parents, a 40thRuby year. A street map of where they met, or the sky over Nashville on June 14, 1986.
A 50th anniversaryTheir wedding night over King Street, Charleston, November 13, 1976: Mirfak was right above them.
For herWhich night to pick for where you are: dating, living together, engaged or married.
For himThe night of a game, a trip or a campsite. Type the ballpark and the heart lands on it.
For ChristmasOn Christmas Eve 2026 the poster circles Capella over all 11 US cities we checked. Or print your own night and give it then.
A new babyThe sky the night they were born. "Nora James, 7 lb 4 oz" fits the name line.
A big birthdayThe sky they were born under. The moon is back in the same phase every 19 years: at 19, 38, 57 and 76.
In memoryThe night they were born, the night they passed, or a night at a place that was theirs.
A dog or a catThe park you walked every day, with their name. Gas Works Park, Seattle, in our example.
Which night to put on it
- The night it happened, not the gift dayThe poster is about the night you met or married. Christmas or a birthday is only when you hand it over.
- The date is enoughThe poster always draws the sky at about 9 pm by the sun there, so you do not need the hour.
- After midnightThe date on the calendar is the next day, and a poster of that date shows the evening after. Type the day before if you want the night you were out.
- In the daytimeA noon wedding still gets its stars: the ones that came out over the venue that evening.
- If you are unsure of the dateOur free sky on any date page shows the moon and the planets for any night, which helps when someone remembers "there was a full moon".

The next gift days, and the last day to order
"Order by" arrives in time even at the slow end of our 4 to 8 business days; "fast only" works when printing and delivery both run at the quick end. Weekends and US federal holidays are not counted. Valentine's Day 2027 is a Sunday, so it is counted to Saturday the 13th.

The last column is the star "Our star" circles at 9 pm sun time on that night, over the 11 US cities in our Christmas check (New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Miami, Minneapolis, Denver, Los Angeles, Seattle, Anchorage, Honolulu); "9 of 11" means two cities get another star. It only matters if you print the gift day itself. See shipping.

Questions
When is a star map the right gift?
When a date means something to them and they would hang it up. It carries their names, their place and their date, so nobody else owns the same one. If their street or their first home is the story, a street map poster fits better.
What is a star map gift?
A poster of the real night sky over a place on a date you choose, at about 9 in the evening, with the constellation lines, the names and the date. Ours also has a small street map of the spot with a heart on it.
Does a star map name a star after them?
No, and no shop can. The International Astronomical Union gives stars their official names and does not sell them. Our poster circles a real star by its real name, the brightest named one high over the place that night, such as Vega or Capella.
Do I need the exact time?
No. Every poster shows that evening around 9 pm sun time. If the moment was after midnight, type the day before; if it was in the daytime, you get the stars that came out that evening.
How long does it take to arrive?
Printing takes 2 to 3 business days and US delivery 2 to 5 more, so 4 to 8 business days in all. Shipping is free in the US. You can ship it straight to them.
Can I see it before I pay?
Yes. The editor draws the poster as you type the place, the date and the names. What you see is the file we print.
